Walking the Capital Ring Stage 1
Woolwich - Falconwood

Date: July 30th 2006
Walkers: Myself and Catheryn
Weather: quite hot, but overcast most of the time
Walk Departure Time: 2.30pm
Walk Finishing Time: 6.45pm
Walk Distance: 6.9 miles

Part one of the Ring went through no less than 6 parks and commons, going steadily uphill from river level to 121 metres high, at the highest point of the whole ring. Good views of the Thames Barrier, scrubby run down parks and housing estates, and pleasant forest greenery provided a variety of backdrops.
